Bridal Gown Preservation:

After dreaming of your wedding day for years it is finally behind you. You’re back from your honeymoon and your dress is still hanging in the closet. Though it’s a blur you recall spilling some champagne on it and maybe some cake icing. Don’t let that wedding gown hang dirty in your closet for years. Dirt, food and drink left on your gown over time gets worse. Typically we find makeup, asphalt, dirt from being outside, body oils, perspiration, etc. Although it is best to clean them as soon as possible after the wedding we have been able to clean gowns that have been put in the back of closet for many years.
Most brides want to preserve their dress as a keepsake, perhaps for their own daughter to wear on her wedding day. Towne and Country Cleaners are now working with Snow Cleaners Inc. to clean, box, and thermal seal wedding gowns.

Bride

Their preservation specialist carefully examines each garment upon receipt, inspecting for stains, tears, bead damage, yellowing and other details that will dictate special cleaning needs. They produce a report detailing the condition of the gown when received, which we provide to the customer when the customer receives the gown back.

Each gown then goes through a thorough and professional cleaning process, tailored to the gown’s specific needs. They use the safest, most delicate and most effective methods known to the industry. Their processes for protecting and reserving the delicate fabrics used in traditional wedding gowns are all environmentally approved.

After cleaning, the gown is checked again to make sure all stains are removed, all pieces are collected (veil, bouquet, photos, invitations, etc.) and any special instructions from the customer are completed. The gown is then hand finished and inspected again after finishing. All articles are placed in a special acid-free box with a clear viewing window and packed with acid-free tissue for protection. The box is sealed and the oxygen within is replaced with an inert gas to prevent yellowing. The gown and any articles in the sealed box are then placed in a specially designed storage box, and then re-boxed for protection

Gown

Snow Cleaners has been practicing the fine art of restoring and preserving delicate wedding gowns since 1910. With each cleaned, boxed and sealed wedding gown, they provide a warranty for the gown.

Your wedding gown is one of your most precious possessions. It is a symbol of an important event in your life and as such, should be treated with special care. Whether you are borrowing it from a relative or buying it new, your gown deserves your attention both before the wedding and afterward.
